Basic Rules

  • Know your substance — get it tested if possible (drug checking)
  • Always start with a low dose and wait
  • Never use alone — have a trusted person with you
  • Don't mix substances — interactions are unpredictable
  • Drink water (but don't overdo it: ~250ml/h)
  • Take regular breaks, get away from noise, fresh air
  • No use with mental health issues, medication, or pregnancy
  • Safer sniffing: use your own straw, don't share (hepatitis risk)
Substances — Overview
💊 MDMA / Ecstasy

Empathogen/stimulant. Effects: euphoria, increased empathy, energy.

Risks: Overheating, dehydration, serotonin syndrome with overdose or mixing with SSRIs. Neurotoxic with frequent use.

Safer Use: Max 1-1.5mg/kg body weight. At least 6-8 weeks between uses. Get it tested — pill dosages vary extremely.

🍃 Amphetamin / Speed

Stimulant. Effects: alertness, energy, suppressed hunger and tiredness.

Risks: Rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, overheating, psychotic episodes at high doses. Often contaminated with dangerous cutting agents.

Safer Use: Low doses, nasal vs oral doesn't reduce cutting agent risk. Get tested. Stay hydrated, take breaks.

💎 Ketamin

Dissociative/anesthetic. Effects: dissociation, altered perception, K-hole at higher doses.

Risks: Unconsciousness + vomiting = choking risk. Bladder and kidney damage with regular use. Extremely dangerous combined with alcohol or GHB/GBL.

Safer Use: Low dose (max 50-75mg nasal). Never combine with downers. Recovery position if unconscious. Never use alone.

🌊 GHB / GBL

Sedative/euphoriant. Effects: relaxation, euphoria, disinhibiting. Extremely narrow margin between effect and overdose.

Risks: Unconsciousness, respiratory arrest, death — especially combined with alcohol. Dosing is extremely difficult, concentration varies. High addiction potential with severe withdrawal.

Safer Use: NEVER mix with alcohol. Mark your own bottle. Dose precisely with pipette. Never redose before effects kick in (>20min). Inform a trusted person.

🌈 LSD / Psychedelika

Hallucinogen. Effects: altered perception, synesthesia, intense emotions. Duration 8-12h.

Risks: Bad trips, anxiety, panic. Not suitable with pre-existing mental conditions (psychosis risk). Don't use in unsafe environments.

Safer Use: Mind set & setting. Familiar environment, sober trip sitter. Low dose (max 75-100µg first time). Don't mix with cannabis or stimulants.

🍂 Cannabis

Sedative/mild hallucinogen. Effects depend on strain: relaxation or activation.

Risks: Anxiety/panic with overdose or bad setting. Unpredictably intensifies other substances. Regular use: psychological dependence possible.

Safer Use: Don't mix with alcohol or psychedelics. Be careful with edibles (delayed onset). Don't drive.

Stimulant. Effects: euphoria, increased confidence, energy. Short duration (20-40min nasal).

Risks: High addiction potential. Heart arrhythmia, heart attack. Often heavily cut (levamisole, local anesthetics). Nasal tissue damage.

Safer Use: Get tested. Own straw (hepatitis/HIV prevention). Don't mix with alcohol (forms cocaethylene — cardiotoxic). Long breaks between lines.

🚑 Emergency Checklist

Person unresponsive:

  • Call 112 — immediately, without hesitation
  • Recovery position, keep airways clear
  • Check breathing — if stopped: chest compressions
  • Seizure: don't put anything in mouth, protect head, stay calm

Overheating:

  • Get out of heat, find cool place
  • Wet cloths on forehead, neck, wrists
  • Small sips of water (not ice cold)
  • If unconscious: 112

Bad Trip / Panic Attack:

  • Quiet, safe place. Don't leave alone.
  • Speak calmly, don't argue, anchor to reality ("You're safe, it will pass")
  • Fresh air, water, glucose if needed

Important: Be honest with emergency services about what was consumed. Paramedics have medical confidentiality. Getting help has no legal consequences for the person seeking help.

🔬 Where can I get substances tested?

More and more cities offer free, anonymous drug checking. Analysis shows active ingredient content and dangerous adulterants.

  • Germany: Berlin (drugchecking.berlin), Thuringia, more planned

  • Netherlands: Trimbos Institute — nationwide free testing

Alternative: reagent test kits (Marquis, Mecke, Simon's) for home — no substitute for lab analysis, but better than nothing.
